Gmail just introduced themes for their email application. I’m currently using the Ninja theme, but that will probably change pretty frequently until I find one that I can settle down with.

Just over 2 weeks ago, my wife and I went to the optometrist to order glasses. For her, it was the first time, but for me it was just the first time in 4.5 years. It’s been a while, I know. I’m just a little frustrated because they told me that my glasses would be ready sometime between Monday and Thursday of this week. Well, it’s late Friday night and I still don’t have my glasses. (Laura’s were ready on Wednesday.) Luckily, they’re open for a few hours tomorrow and I’m hoping that they have my glasses when I call.

Update (11/15/08): Apparently they weren’t open on Saturday. I guess it’s no glasses until Monday at the earliest.

Sometime just before Halloween, my daughter became interested in drums. She just turned 2, but every so often I see her banging on something and when I ask her what she’s doing, she says “drums!”. The only thing that I can think of is that she picked it up from an episode of Yo Gabba Gabba!. (Which, by the way, is a pretty strange show.) A few days ago, Laura and I showed her a video on YouTube of STOMP and she loved it! Every night since then I show her a different STOMP video and she watches intently while playing the air drums. If Sienna does actually end up wanting to learn the drums, it would work out well since Laura has a drum set that she got from her dad. This is one of the videos that she likes to watch.

Discovery Church

Discovery Church: On Saturday evening, Laura and I decided to visit another church besides the one what we are currently members of. So we went to the Saturday evening service at Discovery Church. We both loved the worship music there and Sienna had a great time in their toddler program. We’ve decided to go back this Saturday to hear the pastor preach since there was a guest speaker the night we went. Overall it was a good experience.

This morning, Laura and I along with our daughter Sienna, went out to vote. Sienna was so cute because she kept saying “vote!” over and over. The volunteers at our polling place gave her a ballot that she could “vote” with. She loved drawing all over it while I voted in my booth. Then Laura and I fed our ballots into the machine and we were done. Overall it was a very quick process and a very empty polling place. Like all elections, this one is very important. Unfortunately, it’s sad to see who has been announced as our next president. Now I need to hold out hope for our California Propositions.

Laura and I both went to the eye doctor today. She needs reading glasses and I just need new glasses. I’ve had my current pair for 4.5 years and with wear-and-tear, they need to be replaced. These are the glasses that I chose. Sadly, You’ll have to wait “7-10 business days” until you get to see me in them.

Last night my wife and I carved pumpkins while our 2-year old daughter painted a pumpkin. The one on the left is my first attempt at actually carving a pumpkin. Actually, it’s my first attempt at carving anything. I’m not gonna tell you what it was supposed to be before I started, but now it’s a tribal mask. The one of the right is a Domo. (Not actually a carving, but a cutting.)
